The Riverton Area Book Club is introducing some changes to be made in the selection of monthly books. Based on their knowledge of current reading trends and local interests, Library staff members are going to join in the group's decision-making by recommending books of merit. The library staff will continue to assist in determining availability and formats and arranging for interlibrary loan copies. Also being considered is a pre-planned list for 12 months and having members discuss more than one book at a meeting. Before this new process starts, however, the group has selected a Young Adult novel for June 15. The Riverton Area Book Club will discuss Wild Bird by Wendelin Van Draanen. Published in 2017, this is a first-person narrative about a young girl who must attend survivalist camp because of her bad behavior. Van Draanen is an award-winning author the The Running Dream and Flipped.Everyone is welcome to attend the Riverton Area Book Club which meets the third Saturday of every month (except December) from 10 -11 am at the library. Interlibrary loan can be arranged through your local librarian by contacting the library at 629-6353.
