Events & Clubs
The Friends of the Library meet on the first Thursday of each month at 3pm. The Friends provide enormous support of the library and are a key feature of our success. They host an annual fundraiser, hose events, plan programs and are the goodwill ambassadors of the library. The Friend welcome new members and are always interested in new ideas to foster the enrichment of the library and the community. The Riverton Village Library hosts a textile group that meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 1-3pm. Fiber-art enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome and support is available for beginners. Some complementary material is available for those who may want to sample what the group has to offer.
A Card making class is offered on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 1-3pm. Material is provided but numbers are limited for this class. If interested contact the library to reserve a spot.
The library hosts a Book Club on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Selections are made by the club and the items are ordered for members with an IHLS library card. The book club is open to all members of the community and surrounding area. A library card is not needed to participate and all readers are welcome. Print, large print and audio materials are available for the selections made by the group. Book Club does not meet in December.
